Dispatch from the Bowels of Moloch
I finally got my new health insurance set up so I can go to therapy again. Yaaaaaay. Much-needed since the nausea has cycled back on me again & I spent the last two weeks in the bottomless pit. This country's healthcare system is effing ridiculous, but I'm still one of the lucky ones.

Yeah, I think someone who frames their thoughts in terms of "clean eating" is gonna make themselves ill and waste their money. Changing overall behaviour as a group to change an industry, I support, if people keep their actions in perspective. And I get just having a sense of distaste and not wanting to live out of step with that. But purity stuff will make a person sick. And whatever the motivation, there's a nutritional deficiency headed their way if they don't take care with it.

I raise you a hot cross bun.
(also lol your new theme now has the ip-address-logging warning message in allcaps; makes it feel like it's going to be used for nefarious purposes!)

Are IP addresses of any use these days to people besides the cops? I feel like the main use of logging them on a blog is if you get trolls, you can tell if a bunch of them are sock puppets for the same person. But I imagine any troll worth their salt would know how to set up a basic VPN.

I don't think they're much use to normal people, but weirdos use them to narrow down people's location to doxx them sometimes. If they administer a few sites or access leaks from a few sites they can cross-reference them to uncover identities.
Istr dreamwidth doesn't actually have support for IP-banning people, which makes it all stranger. But I suppose if you're administering something else and then someone starts sending you abuse on dreamwidth, you can see if the same person shows up in both places. Still a bit of a strange priority; I wonder if they intended to do more with it.
